Start with a big table...

Get every socket, extension ratchet, wobble & universal that you own and put them under the car. This one thing alone will save about 75 sit-ups.

Several situations where you will choose either to see the bolt or to touch the bolt, you may not do both.

Do not put seal rings all together in a baggie and leave on floor where dog "retrieves" and spreads around the yard - that was a very expensive bag.

Come back and tell how funny it all was thinking you could do this with out a second or third order from Paragon.... Good luck, turbo swap is a serious merit badge....Bruce

get an exhaust hardware kit from 944online or rennbay, I just went through this and didn't have to disturb the crossover when i went from k26-6 to K26-8 BUT I did have to adjust it some when the new garrett turbo was installed. get all the bots in the crossover started, then tighten them evenly.

OK, someone would be doing other folks like me a huge favor if they could align the part numbers required for a turbo replacement with the numbers on this diagram. This is from VOL6-TURBO shop manual, but of course, the numbers on this diagram do not correspond to any part numbers - they just use very generic terms like, "seal ring", that you need two and you should replace them. Helpful.

944 111 205 03 Turbocharger Outlet Flange Seal Ring
944 111 205 04 Turbocharger Inlet Flange Seal Ring
944 111 205 03 Turbocharger Outlet Pipe to Cat Pipe Flange Seal Ring
999 707 043 00 Turbocharger Supply Line O-Ring (top of turbocharger)
900 174 058 40 Turbocharger Oil Discharge O-Ring (between bottom of turbo and motor mount bracket)
999 707 043 00 Turbocharger Oil Inlet Flange O-Ring (top of turbocharger bearing housing)
N 013 814 8 Turbocharger Oil Supply Line Banjo Bolt Seal Rings (2 Needed)
999 707 043 00 O-Ring on top of turbo for oil line

I've got about $200 in parts in carts at several sites - I think I have everything except the #13 in this diagram. Not sure if that's one of the above or something different.

The cheap hose is no longer available. They replaced it with the expensive hose.

See post 12, that part number is now 999 707 043 40 -- available on Pelican.

That part has been superseded to: 90012300730

If you type that into pelican, they are listed for 25 cents.

Choinga, if you do not have a copy of the PET parts manual, shoot me a PM with your e-mail and I will send it to you...

All the part numbers you need ARE shown in the parts manual! And are available via Pelican, Paragon, 944 Online and various other spots!
