Post 85 944 AC

Hey once again. Now the ac won't work the switch will run the engine cooling fan but doesn't run the ac fan does nor does the compressor clutch ingage. Anyone know where to start looking for this @#%$ problem??? It's getting hot hear in Fla. need so QUICK advice here. "LOL" Going now to try and head off some other fires.

geeezzzzz.... i feel really bad for you , i know what you mean, its getting REALLY hot up hear in MI, it got up into the 30's last week.

I'm not close to may factory manuals, but will offer a little generic A/C wisdom (ok wisdom might be a stretch).

Usually there's a pressure switch in the system that monitors the refrigerant charge. If you've got a leak in system, the switch will be "open", and not allow the clutch to engage on the compressor. With any luck, you may only need a few o-rings and a recharge. If you're running the old/nasty refrigerant (R-12 ?) this might be a good time to convert to the new stuff. You might even break even since the cost/lb for the old stuff is much more expensive.

Did you check the AC fuse and Relay?
