Post San Francisco PCA-GGR autocross #1 - Sunday

Over at Candlestick Park in San Francisco. Here's the <a href="http://www.pca-ggr.org/autocross.html" target="_blank">link.</a>

and

<a href="http://www.pca-ggr.org" target="_blank">http://www.pca-ggr.org</a>

Weather doesn't look good:
"Rather cloudy with showers; very windy and continued cool" High 52(11C)/Low 40(4C). Brrr. I'll be there, with or without my car which won't start(!).

and on a sunny day...

...thanks whoever you are at Butttonwillow Time trials...

I stopped by for maybe an hour or two, it was indeed chilly and windy and I got there when it was sunny!! Leonel and Deni, too bad I missed you guys and wouldn't have recognized you if I'd seen you. Leonel, did you see my car? I was in the back of one of the lines until that group began their runs, then I moved it into the other lot behind the barriers.

Nope, I didn't run today. I could've raced in either the PCA event or the SCCA event that was in Oakland today...too many to choose from. I've still got my Dunlops on the car from driving down to SFR, and since I'm going back next weekend I haven't mounted the Yokohamas back on yet...therefore I opted not to race.

Oh sweet. I saw you talking to a few guys and you were with your wife/girlfriend. Planning on joining our PCA region, huh? Did you see that little silver 914 killing everyone else out there? The guy with the 996 Turbo who was posting the lowest times is also in SCCA, really nice car. Are you coming down to SoCal for the Pizza Run?

I hope to be able to stop by for some future events. Is the local Bay Area PCA very active with events? Is there a different chapter for Santa Cruz?

Joe- my car wasn't even running! it failed on me a couple days before. still haven't figured it out (not starting, haven't checked everything yet). i got up at 6am and took a taxi down there to help out. Those guys thought I was insane because I didn't even go on the track! what can i say?! i love porsche, speed and technique!

Leonel- that white 914 has a 993 engine (plus big reds) in it and produces somewhere around 300 hp while still using a 914 transmission. wow...

steve- they are having another one next weekend in Marina (down by Monterey) with Lome Prieta Region - LPR (which is the one you are near).. check the calendar <a href="http://www.pca-ggr.org/calendar.html" target="_blank">http://www.pca-ggr.org/calendar.html</a> . I'm trying to get to So. Cal. this weekend though. Make sure you thoroughly check out <a href="http://www.pca-ggr.org" target="_blank">http://www.pca-ggr.org</a> for more information.. for Zone 7 clubs, check <a href="http://www.pca.org/regions/zone_7.html" target="_blank">http://www.pca.org/regions/zone_7.html</a> for exact club info. People are pretty cool and you'll make friends as long you're open and friendly. I haven't joined yet, but will soon. You're fortunate that your wife supports you. I think it's healthy, personally. My wife gives me the impression that she couldn't give a rat's *** about what I do as long as it invloves: Porsche, going fast, anything mechanical, and spending a lot of money. I guess there are worse things, but I won't waste bandwidth.
