Corbeau seats also fit, and I love mine. http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/trs/ They came in my car, but it doesn't look like there was anything special that was needed to be done to get them in. Great support and very comfortable over long drives.

if you do any type of racing, read their rules and make sure you are buying the right seat with the proper safety sticker etc.
maybe its different for you guys in Europe, find out before you spend your $$$ though!
a lot of seats will fit, Sparco Evo 2's are pretty wide, my Racetech 4000WX's are super wide, so if you get getting a smaller seat then either of these two - I wouldn't be worried

keeping the nice Recaro sliders is a the way to go.
you can put almost anything in anything. just depends on your desire, funds...
up to the 993, the Porsche stuff all fits. not 100 % sure about all the 996 seats.
for Sparco, and other seats, for keeping those nice Recaro sliders, cutting tools, sheet metal and fire are your friend.

You can fit almost any aftermarket seat in these cars, you'll just need the right adapter brackets. I have Momo reclining seats in my car that are mounted to sparco sliders (16" wide) and flat tabs to connect the 14" wide seat base to the 16" rails (needed to fit factory mounting points. I haven't done any cutting to the factory sheetmetal, and the seats fit fine.

I'd ask what seat fits you more that what fit's into your car. Of course, both are important, but from driving perspective it's more important what suits your body best. so, go and test different type of seats.
If seat is too big, then it won't give you proper support. If it's too tight, you're not sitting comfortable.
I'd say 95% of bucket seats will fit to 944, so that's not a problem. for Porsche style, porsche has always used recaro seats. I chose Recaro SPG profi, which is similar (or at least quite close) to the style Porsche used in 964 Carrera RS. Another good option is Recaro Pole Position, which has been used in 968 CS. Recaro makes good quality seats, although they're a bit pricey. but, good investment still.

the sparco mounting brackets and sliders for my seats were just under 400 dollars shipped. a bit pricy if you ask me.
the seats retail for $4,000 (w/ the mounting hardware not included), http://www.google.com/products/catal...CAcQ8wIwADgA#p,
but i got them at a discount when an aftermarket shop was thinning it's inventory a short time after the stock market panic of 2008...
even with the nice discount, i didn't want to spend 400 dollars more,
so, i modified my stock 968 recaro sliders to fit by grinding off the excess sheet metal until the pieces were flush. next, i welded 4 small plates on and drilled holes. the result was a perfect fit on the stock sliders. those sliders have the nice Porsche adjustments which i prefer over the sparco's. the result was solid, safe and functional.
the seat motors and passenger side leather from the old seats also found a good home.
the sparco seats are very well designed and comfortable.

Thanx!
Well the problem for me is to find seats with mounting brackets and sliders that fit the 944 without modifications but i guess it is just to spend some $$ for Recaro standard mounting brackets and sliders and hang on to them.

I have found 2 black GT3 seats in leather, used but in very nice condition.
They are today in a 993. Is it the same fitting in the floor on 993 as in my 1991 944S2?
If so its just to bolt in my car

something like these 996 sports seats....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...Q5fAccessories
997/Turbo/GT3 seats present an issue w/ the side airbags and where they mount, as they are not compatable with our cars without mods.
they've been selling non-airbag 996 and 997 GT3 REPLICA seats on ebay foir a while, which might be more easily fit into other cars.
couldn't find the 996 GT3 replicas but i did find these.
original adjustable.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...Q5fAccessories
semi-replica ?... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...Q5fAccessories

997 GT2/GT3 buckets (http://www.zcars.com.au/images/porsc...wallpaper1.jpg) do have side airbags, but as far as I can tell from just looking at the seats, the airbags are internal to the seats. As such, they should mount normally (ie the same side-mount brackets that you would use for any other Recaro bucket), but you won't be able to use the airbags in a car that wasn't originally equipped with side-impact air bags
If you like the style of these seats, but not the price tag (997 GT2 seats can run ~$4500 EACH ), there are some companies out there that make replicas for less - SpeedArt and Maxspeed Motorsports are 2 that come to mind. I don't have any experience with either, but perhaps some others around here do and can opine
