I hate to get back on topic, but...
I just replaced my control stalks because my CC stalk was broken off and missing. I picked up a used set on ebay for $27. The problem is that my CC still has a problem, it keeps accelerating when I try to set it. Sounds like the same thing happening with yours. A couple of people say it's due to the computer, which can be fixed by resoldering all connections on the board. I think the thread on that solution is on the general watercooler forum within the last two weeks or so.
