Turn my mint 944 into daily driver?

I would be less concerned about the mileage gain then about the chances of a bonehead in an SUV who *thinks* he can drive in the snow and then piles into you. Hard to believe people drove cars for DECADES without the safety features folks now worry about not being present.
I love seeing Porsches' out and about in the snow because it reminds me of my youth when I only had a 914 and had to drive it year round. Now, I appreciate having a commuter car and keeping the Porsche for the "fun" driving. That said, I know my Porsche would get me thru almost any weather I need to travel in.

For me it's got nothing to do with the millage, it's the salt and as others have said this, the other dorks that can't drive. Yes, it's not a hugely "special" car, but they are nice cars, and to see them turn into rust buckets, and possibly get smashed while sitting at a light??? no thanks, my car hasn't been accidented, nor is there a spot of corrosion on the car. It's got almost 200k miles on it, so I drive it as much as I can, but I draw the line at driving it in the salt, I simply love it to much. I have a winter car for the crappy slushy, salty winters here in Montreal, and as soon as the salt is gone, out comes the Porsche! So I wouldn't drive that beautiful car of yours in the winter, but by all means drive it and enjoy it as much as you can when the salt is gone!
