How well should my new belt rollers roll?
I got some new rollers for my belts but they do not spin nearly as much as my old one. My old ones I could grab them and spin them and they would spin about 1 1/2 - 2 full revolutions, but my new ones only go about half a revolution. All my old ones spin well, and all the new ones dont spin well.

If you hold the center of the old rollers between your fingers of one hand and wiggle the outer race of the roller, the one with the grooves for the belts, are they loose? Do they make noise when you spin them like the ***** are dry and loose?
As to the new rollers; stiff grease.

The tensioner for the balance shaft belt wiggles a little bit when I pull on it, the bearings are also pretty noisy in it. It is not doing it now, but the roller for the timing belt made a loud noise from the bearings when I spun it, but not anymore.

When I did my belts the old rollers would spin freely just like the wheels on a Hot Wheels car. The new rolers were stiff as you describe. I ran the rollers for about a hundred miles or so and when I took them out of the car (don't ask), they were significantly more free spinning. I would install the new rollers and not give it another thought.
