Default OPRV????????

I want to pull my OPRV my 86 NA. Is there anything special about taking it out and cleaning/inspecting and reinstalling? I think the 86 uses the older style.

I have high oil pressure and car is running rough. It does not look to be the OPSU, due to the pressure being at zero when the key is on, and engine is not running.

Thanks for the help.

This might help if you have the early A1-piece conversion OPRV. Both types on the early cars are sensitive to oil cooler/OPRV alignment. Buy the correct o-rings if you have the 1-piece style. These links are helpful also.

Thanks. I was given that yesterday, it is an excellent document. But it does not show me how to reinstall.

Jamesjedi, if you have not loosened the oil cooler setup, the reinstall is simple. However, if you did new seals there is a procedure to follow so the OPRV doesn't bind on reinstallation. I will try to find the doc for you.

Nothing has been loosened. Is it simply tightened with a ratchet? How is it aligned?

I have the one that is simply reinstalled. You do not a need an alignment tool.

They all require an alignment tool. The difference is you can use the one piece OPRVs as an alignment tool, but not with the 3 piece units.
