Talking 924-944-968 A RARE SIGHT IN THE US??

Just arrived back in the UK after a road trip from Colorado through New Mexico and ending up in Phoenix Arizona and after two and a half weeks all I spotted was one 924S in Aurora/Denver. My only consolation was my Camaro hire car

Yes, they are rather rare, except in certain areas during certain times of the year. The dealership in my town (Minneapolis) only has a dozen or so cars stocked at any given time compared to the hundreds at a Honda/Ford/Nissan/GM dealership....

I just drove a moving truck from Los Angeles to Northern TX with a 951 on a trailer behind the truck
I only saw 2 Porsches the entire way ( 1-boxster 1-911 on a trailer )

You can't throw a brick in Los Angeles without hitting a Porsche, usually a boxster

I saw 4 at a junk yard recently, the most I had seen in one place in a while.

I see several every now and again, I know of at least 4 in my city and another two up by where I go to school - and these are only cars I've seen at least twice

I see three in the driveway every day?

I rented a Camaro in L.A. for a wedding trip--it was a very cool car. I put 1000+ miles on it in 6 days!

i travel the midwest and southeast for a living. ive never seen a 968 outside of a show/gathering, i rarely see any 924 variant, and i occasionally see a 944.

i did see a beautiful 944 last weekend.

In the past 10 years I've been looking for them on the road, I've only ever spotted 2 968's, maybe a couple 924's and a handful of 944's. Not too many of them around here in the midwest.

got about 27,500 miles on the 968 this year... i saw a 944 on Sterling Road, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida about a 1/4 mile from the winter residence. saw another in Waukesha, Wisconsin about 2 months ago. the breed is thinning out to be sure, but how many P-cars from the '80s and early '90s do we see on the roads. i saw a 968 in 1995 or 6 when i still had my 944. i started a thread about 928 sightings and they seem to be just as rare.

i think the more significant question is, "what is the number of people out there willing to do what is necessary to keep one on the road ??" had the pleasure of talking to a couple of ricer guys the other day and showed them DVC's pics.... anyway.

I rarely see any around here, but mine is a daily driver so everyone sees me.

I can recall only seeing two 968s on the road in the last year years....about the same for the 924S, NEVER an old 924. I see a couple of 944s around town about once a month or so.

They are kind of rare here in the south. Maybe that is part of the appeal. Heck our primary car is a '07 Mustang convertible, my teenage son's is a '01 Mustang convertible. Mustangs are a dime a dozen, I like them don't get me wrong, but a dime a dozen.
