I see 1-2 a week and not usually the same ones. But yes, after 15-20-25 years they aren't as common as they once were. I recall the same "drop out" with 914s in the mid 1990s. (ok, this was NOT in southern california )

I drive mine most days in the Denver area. I know seven or eight people with them here. Your timing must have been bad.

They are rare (on the road) here in Albuquerque. A fair number in Santa Fe from what I've seen. Driving a Porsche around this part of the country, you have to be pretty brave; from ABQ, it's 250 miles or more to the next Porsche dealer in every direction.

Just yesterday I bought a pickup truck and had my son drive my 944 home. As we were going along, a totally ratted out but otherwise identical 944, driven by some aged, burned out hippies wearing headbands and tie dye's pulled alongside my son and gave the thumbs up. I was so proud... First 944 I've seen in a month and it had no two wheels with similar camber, torn upholstery flapping in the breeze...

Can't say I see them every day in the Springs, but not uncommon to see a couple a week.
