I remember when I was a kid and my friend bought an old bug, we found some coins under the seat and his father told us to leave them there for good luck.

I don't remember if they were foreign of domestic coins though.

Before I went to visit Germany, I had about 2-3 minor accidents, and about 7 tickets. (in the previous space of 3 yrs driving.

The day before I left, I exchanged some Germand Deutschemarke for CDN$, and I have had a 5 marke in my wallet ever since.

And ever since day that day 3 yrs ago, I've not had any accidents OR tickets of any kind.

Call it luck, coincidence, or Bull****, but I'm NOT taking out that coin!

Found pieces of glass and two 9mm shells under the carpet. I think I'd rather not know how they got there.

I found a Mont Blanc rollerball pen, a Little Feat (sp) tape, and a gym membership card.

In addition to the leather care tag for the interior, the unused air compressor, toolkit and the gas gloves I also found french fries, business cards, copious amounts of pipe tobacco and an aerosmith cassette. Like Perry said, you take the good with the bad.

This isn't cool, but when I gutted my first 8v I found a swastica carved into the metal. The area was untouched, and the swastica was painted with the car which leads me to believe it was done while the car was being made.

"PUT THOSES COINS BACK!!! Germans believe that it is good luck for some reason"

Funny one of my Irish coins found it's way into the wheel well. It seemed to keep turning up stubbornly. So now I leave it as a good luck charm as well. Never heard of this practice before. But I must be onto something.

I also wear some Irish soil around my neck as good luck.

A friend bought one new that had sand everywhere, in and out, when he took delivery, He figures it must have been shipped on the deck of a boat that passed through a storm with winds coming off Africa or something. Either that or someone was test driving it for a while.

The PO loved this car so much he detailed it just before I picked the car up. The car had a real sweet smell to it, I just figued it was some kind of air freshener. As time went by the smell never went away. After much digging... found oooold chocolate bar.
Funny, otherwise the car was sparkling clean.

I'm not sure if the coin thing is specifically German or not. I know it is an old Ashkinazi Jewish (central European) tradition to place coins on door frames when you move into a house. I think other European cultures do that too.

I found a great big hunting knife in my old Scirocco when I bought it. In the 924S, the PO had pulled out the stereo, but they left the amp behind under the passenger seat. They also left some giant Panasonic phone system thing in the driver side cargo bin. Other than that, mostly just petrified french fries and coins.

The pistol casing thing isn't too troubling. I had them rolling all over the place in my truck when I used to go to the pistol range a lot. Take your pick, 9mm, 40S&W, .30carbine, .357, .38 Super. They tend to fall in your cloths and shoes and stuff when they bounce off the wall of the booth at the pistol range and wind up in your car.

I found an oil change sticker from 91' with 10k more miles listed then the car indicates. Found it inside the door panel, along with masking tape that had white paint residue.

You are right. That really is not funny, Arctic. It makes you wonder sometimes what is really going on in the world. That is really kind of depressing.
