I've torqued them many times to spec and still had them work loose, even with new locks. Especially the inner CV on the driver side. This is on a track only car. I'd either drill the bolt caps and safety wire them or use Stage8 bolts.

I HIGHLY recommend the Stage 8 locking bolts. I use them now.

I used factory cheesehead bolts, torqued properly, and had one CV work it's way loose and fall off of the freeway. I think I got grease on the threads. The cost of the replacement CV would have paid for the bolts. Thankfully I didn't lose any track time, but easily could have. That cost adds up fast too...

Just haven't had the same problems as yall. But on the 928 I have them safety wired and they'll never come off. All you need is some thin gauge stainless wire, the pliers, and some small drill bits. Then just drill holes in the regular bolts (that are .75c).

I found the trick is to make sure the surfaces where the drive flanges meet are clean & grease free. If covered with cv joint grease & messy, you’ll get a false impression that they’re torqued to spec…but once the grease runs out & migrates away into the boots, the bolts will loosen & back out. That has been my experience.
