Post Houston has a new 951 in town! (long but has pics)

Hey!
Well after what...3-4months of searching (seemed like years) we (me and father) finally have picked up the one!

Details:
'86 951 (Gaurds Red/Black)
49k miles
Sports seats
Limited Slip Differential (actually I'm not sure of thise..the previous owner said it has it but how would I be sure)
Came with service manual, air compressor, tools, sunroof bag.

We got it delivered this morning at around 7:40 a.m. from a car moving company which was simply awesome. He picked it up Friday night from Denver and kept us updated wherever he was so no worrys at all. It was an open carrier though because closed carrier is just cost way too much (only had to deal with some dirt and gunk but all washed off). And he got here this morning...which I think is pretty damn fast.

After church, spent the whole afternoon and evening cleaning the exterior, Vinylex'ed the dash (not letting any dash cracks form, even in this Texas weather), cleaned/conditioned the leather, waxed etc. What can I say, I'm just in awe...Havn't even driven it yet (have not received the title back so no insurance) but can't wait.

I was originally really into alot of Japanese cars but my dad wanted to get a german..then we bought the M3 and after that I was hooked on german...then I saw a lot of posts on the M3 forums about how good they tracked but there were always Porsche 951's beating them and that was when I got into the 944's (also because my dad liked them). And here we are. I love this car, it fits me like a glove, and I actually like how small it is (I'm a short guy 5'4")

Oh and if anyone is interested in:
- Original Blaunkapt (spelling?) Head unit
- Rear Wiper
- Rear Porsche Panel
Please let me know and maybe we can work something out...I need money for a Rennlist Membership !!! well I have the money...but no credit card...

I have a SFR exhuast screaming to be put on and a SFR short shifter waiting for a shift **** also... Can't wait to put them on.

Ok Ok, enough with the chit chat...on with the pics eh?

Matt. Two beautiful cars. Although I am partial to the 951. Good color combo also. Congrats!!

yeah thats why I wrote if anyone wants it, its not my cup of tea as well but maybe someone else might like it. How does one go about taking these out? And how to fill the holes...

Wow that is really nice,

So what part of Houston do you live in? That looks exactly like the garage area of my old house in Clear Lake.

when you take it out it will have four holes. you could cover them with a painted cap of some sort..but i would take it to a body shop and have them work some magic on it and go over holes and repaint.

its a beautiful example...its worth it!

Matt, congrats on the very nice 951!

Are you coming to the Houston Rennlist picnic? You should! It's this Saturday. See the admin post if you haven't already.

Are you on E46fanatics? I'm Geo31 on that board (Geo was taken and it's never even been used ).

I'm planning on being at the Rennlist picnic with my E46 328i. I have to make sure I don't have to work though (Grrrrrrr).

They're wonderful shots (and my family has been in to professional photography as a hobby for years!).

BTW - I like the light bar. I ahve it on BOTH of my cars!
