Clarification please:
I though big reds were aftermarket and blacks were off the 928. Of course you can paint any caliper any color but isn't that the standard?
TIA

"Big Reds" were standard on the 993TT. They can be retrofitted to quite a few other P-Cars. The black ones that are seen here are from the 928S4 (or the 944 TurboS, they shared the same calipers).

Def a personal thing, but when I go for the big reds I plan on having them done in that brembo racing gold, with red letter porsche lettering, a bit flashy yes, but I think it looks good and it has its history in racing so it works for me.

While I haven't seen that, I have seen many ricers with painted DRUMS on thier Honduhs.
Just think: if painted calipers make you stop better, can you imagine what kinda braking power painted drums must have?!?!
Buhahahaha!

What about silver like many of the 993's (c4 model) have. I think it looks really good. Not as flashy as red but a little more so than black. I wish I had a picture but I do not.

How about that yellow that a lot of the new Porsche have? From a simply theoretical point, black would be best to shed the heat, but I have no idea what the difference in numbers would be.
As I recall from a review of the Cooltech aluminum-composite rotors from a couple years ago, those things dissipated heat so fast, they would yellow the clearcoat on your wheels! And they would be cool enough to touch in less than 1-minute after pulling off the track.

I saw a Ricer at the local jet wash last night who had blue drums.
I just kept staring at them until he said in a pissed-off voice, "What are YOU looking at?".
My reply....."The dumbest thing I've ever seen!!".
He said, "What is dumb?". I said, "The fact that you painted your drums!!". He said all his friends painted the front calipers (which he had already done), so he thought he would do the back "calipers" as well.
I didn't even bother to try and explain all the ways he was wrong.
More proof that stickers and fart cans actually KIll brain cells!!
