Hey guys I was wondering how much boost can a k26/8 take on a 951S? I heard for the k26/6 you shouldn't really boost it more than 17-19psi due to shorting it's life and so forth.

Cause I'm planning on putting a k26/8 on my 86 951 and just curious what I can expect... other mods include 3" catback exhaust, new 15psi wastegate, stage 2 autothority chips, hv bosch fuel pump.. and planning more mods but just wish to know my limitation with the k26/8. Thanks guys.

I haven't heard of higher boost shortening the life of the turbo, but rather it's out of the efficiency range. Also keep in mind that the chips are mapped to a certain boost level (Autothority Stage 2 chips used a banjo bolt in conjunction with the factory wastegate/CV). If you are wanting to run higher boost, you may want to look at different chip sets.

i think above 15psi on the 26 compressor is above its efficiency range...
