Today is perfect up here in the NW, combined with the fact that DST started this weekend and it'll be sunny late, my drive home just got 100% nicer!
Time to take the top off and blast down I-5.
I saw two silver 944s driving southbound this morning around 10am on I-5 near federal way, about 2 minutes apart, was it anyone on here?

I still have some work to do. Weather still sucks out here though. I guess that's a good thing. I'm slackin'. You can bet though, that as soon as I am done, I am gonna go out and get a really nice dig camera to take pics at every angle. I can't wait.

I have finally paid mine off and I get it back this thursday! I am going to pick it up and I am bringing my new AVS Intermediates to have mounted and aligned right away. I am very excited! no work is getting done this weekend!

I spent 3 weekends doing it right. My little recipe for spring cleaning. The weather cooperated, and now I am really prepped and ready to fly.
Week 1: Started with Meugiars creme polish.(Very light abrasives) Worked the entire car, made sure all bug deposits, rain spots, and tar bits were off of all surfaces. Used conditioning creme on paint, buffed to high gloss and then 4 light buffed coats of carnuba, with a Eagle 1 teflon final coat. The Eagle 1 has the best reflectivity, light just slips off the car now. I still have a few swirl marks, but only I would notice them on this white car. Time spent: approx. 8hrs over 2 days.
Week 2: Cleaned all engine and underbody surfaces, degreased, and pressure sprayed. Hand polished wheels while removed, and cleaned all calipers and wheel wells. Inspected timing belt, and all underbody rubber. Checked tierod and axle boots. Verified belt tensions on ALT and PS. Checked all intake and intercooler rubber, checked for oil in intercooler pipes and throttle body. Verified all fluids. Time spent: approx 10 hrs over 2 days.
Week 3: Removed front seats, vacuumed thoroughly. Detailed interior, removed front dash and air vents to clean down into the air ducting. Toothbrushed all cracks and crevices. Spent hours lovingly rubbing leather lotion into seats by hand. (Holy Cow do they look good!) Removed door panels and lubed window channels with graphite. Lubed locks and rear hatch hinges and mechanism. Checked all door, glass, and sunroof gaskets for wear. Detailed glass with buffing polish, I highly recommend this! it made my glass look incredible. I used a micro-bead polish I got a AutoZone, especially for resurfacing glass. It removes all build-up and even buffs out those tiny pits that dirt/sand makes at high speed. Also cleaned inside glass by hand with polish, to remove all the build up that causes streaks. My front windshield wanst bad, my n/a 85.5 944 was terrible, and after about an hour of elbow grease, both looked factory fresh. And it makes a huge difference from the drivers seat, too. I couldnt believe how transparent my cockpit is now. All the little sun sparkles are gone!
End result: My car is close to concours fresh, the wax should hold up for months, and I have a gigantic smile everytime I see her. 25 hours or so, priceless.
I put the top in the bag, and drove topless for a while today. Picked up the kids in the turbo, all the little boys were oohing and ahhing when they saw it. I think my son just became popular, .
I could just gush on and on about my car. You guys know how it is...

Ahhhh... it is gonna be a while.
I started sanding last night, and hope to have most of my prep work for paint done this week. I am waiting for my AIR splitter to arrive, a headlight cover, and I need to decide what nose peice I want. I would like a stock one cut and vented, but I cannot find one for less than a Hundo, and add $175 on top of that for the cutting. For that cost, I can get a fiber replacement, although fitment might be an issue. Anyway... I plan to have a shiny new coat of paint on it next weekend. Then I need to put the body and interior back together.
As for the motor, I have tried to get in touch with Garrity again on my pistions with no luck. Going on 4 months 1 week of wait time. As soon as he gets them, he said he would ship the block, assembled rods, and crank back to me. 2 weeks after that, it should be in the car.
So now, if I get pistons in the next 2 weeks, Mid May is my finish date. $100 bucks says I don't make it. The only deadline I have hit lately is getting my website up by mid April.
Drive a few hot laps for me! <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />
