NNJR PCA Autocrosses has some Loaner helmets available for Newbies. Do not buy one until you try and see if you like to do more. However, No Loaner helmets at Driver Ed events.

No need to do anything special to your car.Just make sure that the car is in its normal working order.

Relax and have Fun. Remember that everyone was a Newby at one time.

Thumbs up

Hey OperatorSx-

You might be better off going to PCA CVR AX in Springfield, MA. Looks like it will be a shorter drive there. It will be at the Smith & Wesson plant. Directions there are available at CVR homepage . There should be a couple of Rennlisters at this event too. I'll have the silver S2, drop by and say hi.

Cheers

Woohoo!

Second time I'm writing this cause I used too many images in the 1st...argggg...

I got there a little late, so I could only walk the course like 1.5 times. The second time I was kinda rushed. (This is the most important part of autocrossing by FAR.)

My first two runs, no instructor, I went off course by a long shot both times..I was totally lost.
My third run, I finally got an instructor (tried for the 2nd...but none available)..did the course except for the last turn into the timing gate..cut that one short...(missed the cones)..no biggy.
The PM runs were much better.
My 4th run I got an instructor again and got the course down...~88 seconds
5th run, no instructor, 80 seconds
6th run, no instructor, OC..I saw the cones in front of me and I just went around them...stoopeedd...no biggy.

Fasted time of the day was ~59 seconds by a super go fast TVR (~1700lbs). Boxster turned a ~61 sec time for 2nd place..miata took 3rd with a ~62 sec time.

I had a blast...I'm totally HOOKED! Next autox is April 7th...I'll probably be there.
I think I'm gonna hold off on the DE's for a month or two...there's a lot more risk in that and I want to have a better grasp of the car's handling first.

A lot of awesome cars were there...a GT3 cup car for starters! Also 2 996TT's, a couple 911 turbos of various years..all really loud n cool n stuff

Well my first auto-X experience was too much fun, next time I will definetly be behind the wheel and not on the sidelines! Some really great cars, and great people. Everyone was very friendly and there were some kick-*** driving done out there.

The guy in the GT3 cup car never finished a lap while I was there, he was off-course every time (kinda funny if you ask me). The miata was very impressive, the guy was so smooth and clearly took the best lines out there.

my favorite car of the day....

look familiar adrial?

I checked the board they had set up, they bumped me to P8 from P7 I think. P7 is the turbo S class, P8 is the turbo class. I was the only P7 car there..soo...hehe...
I beat one of the 86 turbo guys, probably his first time out too...he took 90 secs. Another guy took ~70 or so.

I'll check the web site now though...(just checked) results aren't up yet.

spidey, thats my fave car of the day too! well one of them, I took a couple pics of it.

Great.. Tobay beach is only a few minutes from me. Is this event open to all, or is a PCA membership required? Either case I will try to go the 7th. Sounds like fun.

I think if you're not a member its $30 instead of $20.

They didn't really check this time around though...not sure if they usually do. All I did is give them my name, address and car...I would guess they have my membership info in the computers though.
