Default how to use the cruise control? ()

I am trying to figure out how to set the cruise control. I can get it to accelerate just not set at a speed. I'm not sure how to set the speed. Could anyone tell me how to set the speed? I don't have an owners manual.

1. Check for vacuum leaks. (I think the set up is same as 928 but may be wrong). 2. The soldering in brain may have lost good connection. This can be resoldered (takes time) but I have fixed 4 of 5 brains this way (for 928) the fifth was water damaged and had a burnt smell before I started. Hope this helps some.

from the owners manual,

"accelerate to the desired cruising speed, push lever toward instrument cluster and release.
this sets the cruising speed and stores it to memory.
after a second or two, automatic speed control will take over and you can remove your foot from the accelerator pedal. the set
cruising speed will be maintained automatically."

One common failure in the CC system is for it to add ~10mph to where you set it. Happens on mine and has happened on others. When you push the control stalk to set speed, does it stop after is starts accelerating?

One cool thing I found with cruise control is that if you push in the clutch the car will re-engage cruise control unlike most cars. What's really fun is to set the cruise at say 55mph then coast to like 15mph and then re-engage the cruise and shift through the gears without having to touch the gas pedal.

Why does it accelerate 10mph when you set the crusie control. My car does this and i can't figure it out. Also sometimes it will randomly mash the gas pedal and accelerate hard... good thing for turbo lag.
I bought a used servo motor to see if it helps.

If your speedo sender on the trans is starting to go bad, you'll get all kinds of strange action from cruise. Missing a couple of pulses is not enough to show on the speedo but apparently enough to confuse the cruise circuits.

So here is what I found out. That when trying to set my cruise it will just accelrate and not stop like a toyota. Would that be a bad brain?

Yes, resolder the connections on the board.
