what are your guys sunroofs made of? I was under the impression they were already a fibreglass panel. the one in my bone stock '78 924 was and my friend dropped his while prepping his '88 944 8v n/a for paint and chipped it- definitely FG.

awesome, thanks!

Lowe's is only 2 miles from me - so I'll measure out all the plugs I'll need (for the A/C holes - leaking water into the inside slowly) and for the J-boot

has anyone had any success with using an aftermarket silicone J-boot?

btw, my car still has some of the black tar stuff on it, still have to scrape that off too

let me know what you use for the AC holes (mine are still open)

for the j boot hole i recommend going to an auto parts store and buying a boxed assortment of vacuum caps. they are cheap and it really comes in handy. i have used several different sizes. there was one perfect for this fitting, and quite a few little ones that were perfect for standard vacuum lines.

Do you mean this hose that I am holding?

An old spark plug fits in my tubing quite nicely. In my car I can start and drive the car with the hole open but doing so requires that I juice it a bit on startup. With it plugged it fires up on the first crank every time.

WHere should this tube go?

hm that's weird

I give mine a little gas on a start up

I got some shots for you guys:

my "home-made" A/C Delete -> alternator bracket - exactly as I described, the belt whines sometimes for a few seconds, but over-all, so far it does the job - I will buy a A/C->alternator tensioner and another A/C Delete belt just in case though:

here's a shot of my engine bay with how the car sits right now - I still need to remove the little emissions stuff left, just haven't gotten around to it yet (top right corner):

this is how I sit - I'll move the seat up another 2 notches:

and passenger's side - you can see on top right where the floor was patched for me:

I wanted to take a shot form behind the dash where we removed the A/C stuff, but it's a little hard, I will if someone wants me to though

and here's a shot form the back of the car - it still needs a good cleaning inside, and eventually I'll spray-bomb the inside red:

took the car to the local SCCA A-X for a couple of hours, didn't run - car's cooling system started acting up a little bit, there is still 1 more event left this year - so I will run during that event; for next season, I'm registering with SCCA and PCA, and going to attempt to attend as many events as I can - starting with driving schools!

Well, I also see some rusty nuts on the tower. I'd replace those with some new shiny pretty stainless steel ones you can get at any hardware store that carries machine/metric nuts and bolts (lowes, home depot etc).

Aside from that, since I hate rusty anything as it's a headache later.... to clean the dirt get a dremel, polishing wheels, cloth wheels, etc.

One way I get into really fine areas is by taking the cutting wheel adapter (the ones with screws that hold the wheel on) and get terry cloth towels and cut them into strips, then tie those onto the wheel adapter, put some cleaner wax on them and go crazy. You can get into some really fine crevasses that way.

I'll get to those nuts once I have Koni's with coil kit form Paragon here, maybe even a set of camber plates

I took them off to put on the weltmeister brace and they are solid

going to be hard to see without me taking stuff off to take pics, but I have 2 hoses left - one going to AOS and one going to brake booster, 2 small vac hoses for FPR's and another small vac hose to the booster - everything else is gone

stuff that's left - not sure what it's called - is in the right side of driver's firewall - I already know what I gotta do, I just need to find a free "un-lazy" hour to do it

I think it looks better/cleaner

You should repaint the interior all one color.
