Default How much Hp you think?

Hey guys I was just wondering what you estimate my 951 is currently running at? I know a dyno would be the best solution but just looking for a general idea right now.

I have a 1986 951
Standard k26-6
Autothority Stage 2 Chips
Rebuilt 15psi Wastegate
Bosch HV Fuel Pump
Bosch 3 Bar Regulator
Everything Else stock

If I were to guess I would say maybe 270-280? probably wrong but just guessing.

Doesn't a stock 86 Turbo usually run around 210-215 on the dyno? I would think with new chip and a rebuilt 15psi wastegate numbers would be a little higher

217 CRANK hp...

Chips only raise over boost to 15PSI, and map fuel and timing for the elevated boost level...

age will reduce the HP rating, raising the boost level raises the HP level back up.. you are probably within 10% of my 220 number, but I could be wrong...

take it to a dyno and see...

Bone stock 951's usually put down 190ish to the wheels. A typical Autothority chip car puts down about 215 to 220 at the wheels. Your 26/6 still has boost dropoff and you are running a FPR that is adding 17% more fuel over what the chips are mapped for so you're probably running rich and killing power. I'll guess 210 to 215 RWHP and around 245 at the motor.

I thought with chips you needed a bigger FPR?

Depending on who you are "bench racing" with, aim a little bit higher, then if the car has less hp, just brag about the power to weight ratio.

I'll guess in between.. 210RWHP. They never make as much hp as your butt dyno tells you.

Only if your chips are made for X BAR FPR... you can get chips for a completely otherwise stock car...

You can even get aftermarket stock chips... but why?

Like John said, it depends on the chip. The older development chips (Auththority, Weltmiester, Steve R, Turbo Cups) used a 2.5 bar FPR and retained the stock FQS switch settings for fuel enrichment and timing retard. Unless your APE chips specifically called for a 3.0 Bar FPR in the instructions (I've never seen an APE chip that did) then you have the wrong one in there.

While you are probably a bit safer running on the upper end of of the rev range @ full load with the 3.0 bar, your likely to be too fat everywhere else. I'd head to a dyno that has a decent Horiba sniffer and see what your A/F is.
