Question Cookie Cutter Wheel Offset?

I'm considering purchasing a set of used cookie cutters. They are 7X15. Would I be correct in assuming that the offset is 23mm, or is there variation in the cookie cutters as there is with phone dials?

The part number is 911 361 023 54R.

Does the 023 indicate the offset?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

The "023" is part of the part number and not the offset. The offset should be stamped on the back of the wheel. It'll look like "ETxx" where xx is the offset. If they're off a 944, the offset is most likely 23mm. Some 911's did use a different offset.

HTH.

I have a set of older 15 x 6 cookie cutters that are p/n 911 361 023 44 that have 120mm backspacing. I also have phone dials from my '86 NA that have the same back spacing. Not sure if the phones are 6 or 7 wide, but they are stock original wheels. Both wheels made by ATS btw.

That's a 23.3mm offset 7jx15 911 wheel from the early Eighties.

Good Luck!

OK, I just acquired an '83 944 (US model) with cookie cutters, factory rear Al spacers.

Same part number as above, but no "R" at the end. "7J 15 H2" is cast in as well, but no ETxx number to indicate the offset.

So....why no "R"? Is this a stock factory 944 wheel? What is the offset?

Thanks,

hi, the R is usually just part of a casting number, not part number.

somewhere on the wheel should be stamped/cast ET23.
if not you can just measure it...be advised the 7" wheel isn't actually 7 inches from face to face, but use a tape measure to find the centerline of the wheel, mark it (sharpie?) and then measure from the centerline to the hub-mounting face.
