a cup holder can be fabricated by any good autobody shop.
i did the exact same thing... i only carry the spare scrunched tire and t-bar.
in the rare event of a blowout i will be using roadside assistence.

That's kind of a silly assessment. Keep in mind the panamera is built for multiple purposes, unlike some of it's 2 door coupe counterparts. It's quite comfy. Different flavors for different people man. Have an open mind. I'm a purist, I personally don't want cupholders and all the extra fluffy stuff. But just because it has a cupholder doesn't make the car for fatties. It still performs well, but is built to cater to a different purpose. you could go ask them on the panamera forum and see what they say, hm? I don't think they'll be too happy though.

I also like to read the posts by the same people two years later when they want to sell it wondering why nobody wants the heap o'junk they are trying to sell. The best is when the person is asked why they are getting rid of the car the answer is because it is too loud, or rides too rough, or doesnt offer the comforts modern cars have.

And how does your putting in subs and amps make your car more of a sports car when you cant hear the roar of the motor?

Some people just enjoy working on their cars and look for things to do. If it makes you happy to try and save weight go for it.
I personally agree with Gages 944 when it comes to the definition of a sports car.
You can pick up a 944 for a song, put in a little hard work and have a fun car for the street that you can also use at track events and DE's without worry. If you ball it up at the track you can walk away easy. If stripping it down adds enjoyment to the experience somehow than what's the harm.

the spare stuff weighs alittle but if you remove it you are pulling it from the wrong end. I usually track my turbo w/ the spare, tools and compressor still in there. You want to pull more weight from the middle and front. Problem is most the easy stuff to pull is in the rear- then you are oversteering like crazy.
Whatever you do for weight reduction (or race prep), it's a good idea to make it reversible unless you're really turning it into a dedicated, off-the-streets, race car. As much as we may value our "upgrades" there's a much wider market to sell a 944 that is largely stock and unmolested.
