a cup holder can be fabricated by any good autobody shop.

yea, but the panamera has four seats, a center console from the starship enterprise and an electric liftgate.

an amazing car nonetheless.

That's kind of a silly assessment. Keep in mind the panamera is built for multiple purposes, unlike some of it's 2 door coupe counterparts. It's quite comfy. Different flavors for different people man. Have an open mind. I'm a purist, I personally don't want cupholders and all the extra fluffy stuff. But just because it has a cupholder doesn't make the car for fatties. It still performs well, but is built to cater to a different purpose. you could go ask them on the panamera forum and see what they say, hm? I don't think they'll be too happy though.

Indeed, so are there any technical concerns with removing the cruise control of is it simply a matter of unbolting?

Thanks

Been there, done that.... Sold my 180whp Mk2 turbo golf (weighing 2250lb) because it was stripped of all insulation, and had a 3" exhaust that rubbed the floor, just to name a few things....mainly because it was FWD though. But MAN did it haul *** and make alot of drivers look funny at me at the track. Fun track cars, crappy street cars. Thats why i bought a 944S... Hoping it's going to be best of both worlds stock

they did when your 944 was new. the stereotypical new 944 owner was the chubby balding dentist trying to impress his receptionist with a porsche. not unlike many of todays new porsche owners, new corvette owners, etc.

And how does your putting in subs and amps make your car more of a sports car when you cant hear the roar of the motor?

Some people just enjoy working on their cars and look for things to do. If it makes you happy to try and save weight go for it.

I personally agree with Gages 944 when it comes to the definition of a sports car.

You can pick up a 944 for a song, put in a little hard work and have a fun car for the street that you can also use at track events and DE's without worry. If you ball it up at the track you can walk away easy. If stripping it down adds enjoyment to the experience somehow than what's the harm.

Or understeering. But I figure that could be a 10 page thread if we head down that path.

Whatever you do for weight reduction (or race prep), it's a good idea to make it reversible unless you're really turning it into a dedicated, off-the-streets, race car. As much as we may value our "upgrades" there's a much wider market to sell a 944 that is largely stock and unmolested.
