Post Power Steering Pressure Line

I have to replace the pressure line for the power steering system (line that goes from the pump over to the rack). Can this be done with the rack in the car? Any tips would be appreciated.

If you are replacing it with a new OEM one you should have no problem doing it with the rack still in the car. Just be careful with the Allen head banjo bolt that holds the end of that hose to the rack. They like to strip out.

Worst case, if you have any trouble you can take out the 4 bolts that hold the rack to the cross member. This should give you more than enough room to work with it.

Now's a good time to rid yourself of those stoopid Allen banjo bolts. I hold great resentment toward them... aargh!

New part # will get you Hex head bolts, as it should be.

aargh!

Good Luck!

I just happen to carry new hex head "high flow" banjo bolts for just that application... (shameless advertising plug)
