Also, anyone know how much it costs per day/weekend to rent a 'decent' car that would be fun on the Nurburgring?

I'm not old enough to rent a Boxster or a 996 but I have heard of people renting Audi TTs. I would even be satisfied with a VW GTI or another fast Audi of some sort.

I would be coming from Berlin.

Well if anyone wants to meet at the 'Ring just let me know. I am up for it anytime.

I like to rub in the fact that I live an hour from it..

I'll have to check the details with my 911-copilot but I'm quite sure we'll try to make it to the 'ring... either 24th or then 25th.

Any good web sites or other info I could read up before going?

I'de like to know the same thing. Having never driven on any European roads, I would like to know the basics before making a fool of myself.

Also, our webmaster, John D, has been there... he may know of some hidden treasures... like the Porsche Goodie Store:

So does anyone have a number for factory reservations? I have been looking around but can't seem to find it. Looks like I have to drive to Stuttgart next week to drop off our backup server to be fixed. I think I will swing by the Museum while I am there. Another rough day on the job..

Bump!

Got our route plan sorted out yesterday. Our boat arrives in Travemünde around 8 am tuesday 24th of june, and from there me & my copilot will blast straight towards Adenau... hopefully covering that ~600 or so kms fast enough to still make it to the track (which appears to be open betwen 17:15 - 19:30 that day).

We'll be spending the night somewhere near (I'm trying to get a reservation from hotel An Der Nordschleife), and then back to 'ring for wednesday 25th. If I'm reading the graph correct then the track will be open between 15:15-19:30 so plenty of time to meet you guys and also do a few (nice and easy, for me at least - first time there!) laps.

So: Michael, schlag, see you on 25th of june? Anybody else happen to be there around that time?

So Sami, you will not be joining the rest of the convoy and us of course, and spending the nights in the hotels, Ari has reserved for us?
