Default 924S vs 944S2 gear shift mechanism/linkage

Hi folks,

What, if any, are the differences between the 924S and the 944S2 gear shift linkage?

Basically, what I'd like to know is there the Deutsche Nine short shift kit advertised for the 944 Turbo/S2 would also fit on my 924S - it looks like the best quality short shifter available these days:

Thanks!

Chris

I think it'll work fine.

I think so to, but it's a big chunk of cash to drop on it without being sure.....

Thanks,

That's a nice, but pricey short shifter. You can find them cheaper, but the problem is that they are then cheaply built. Every $99 SS kit I've gotten off of ebay has had to modified and rewelded.

I've got one, although it was less than $99 (on "special"), and it didn't need welding, but it needed work.... even the threads were poorly tapped, and needed reworking. And the rose-joint type thing on it has more play in it than I would like :-(

Basically, I'm not sure I trust it on my car for very long, whilst the D9 job looks really well made - as far as I can tell....
