WOW, 142-146 cars! even with a slightly late start they still got in 6 runs. Unfortunatly, I was only a spectator, still no car , but it was fun to see everyone.
Ken, good job! Don't forget to send me that battery info.
Z-man, I told you I can't write to save my @$$.

I had a blast! 51.23: I believe that's more than a second faster than Adrial, and almost 2 seconds quicker than Yarin! hehe...

Hats off to Dave: now there's an autox enthusiast: there at the start, stayed 'till the end without getting in a car! It was great to see you again, and IF YOU PROMISE not to beat me, maybe I'll let you drive my S2 next week. (Maybe not!) hehe...

Seriously: it was a blast. The course was open, but very slippery. One big thing I learned: I NEED LIMITED SLIP! There were so many sections where coming out of the sweepers, my car would not hook up. Gotta get the power to the ground! hehe.

So, who's in for next week's autox?!?

Zoltan, Limited slip may have helped a bit...but I didn't have any traction coming out of the corners either...but thats probably because of the rear tires...that are completely shot..(17k street miles, 15 autocrosses x 2 drivers (so 30 autox) and 1 DE.

Your math skills are a little off Zoltan
Yarin and I were within .1 seconds of eachother...making the gap 1.7 seconds to me and 1.8 seconds to him. :-p I suppose you can drive...but your aging brain can't do any math anymore

You forgot how much slower that 51.23 was than Roca...what was that...Roca had a 49.xx in a pretty much stock 944 n/a? Ooops...

Adrial: I work with computers, so my math skills have indeed suffered. You and Yarin had a great showing: truthfully, I was expecting BOTH of you to walk all over me, since you've already autox'd twice before.

Also: I think I just got lucky yesterday. And with Dave out of the picture for a little longer, I don't have to worry about his tauntings yet!!!

Roca was running on r-compounds, and that, IMHO, is an unfair advantage, which may be resolved next week. (wink wink).

Well, I was only .5 seconds behind the Turbo boys, so I must be doing something right. I lost 2nd place by .07 seconds so at least I know that I can be competetive in the Veteran Class.

Dave, check your email. I sent off the information about the battery.

What's a good place to get brake pads? I found the KFP Carbon/kevlar at Paragon. $200 for everything. Is that a good price? I'm gonna call Powertech and see if they have them.

Also, what a good place to get the KLA strut brace? Both Paragon and KLA have them for $125. Is there anyplace cheaper and/or closer?

Ken:
Powertech does sell KFP Magnum Gold pads, IIRC, they are prices around $200 for a full set (front and rear), plus you don't have to pay shipping charges! Strut brace: you don't need no stinkin' strut brace! [whisper mode]get a M030 968 rear sway bar[/whisper mode]

Luke: yesterday's course was not the typical "nip and tuck" course: it was a very open "M" shaped layout, which means there were basically 4 short straights with 3 180 turns. Adrial and Yarin have to get on boost sooner to take advantage of the straights!
