Default machine shops in ny area

i'm looking to rebuild my motor and need to find a shop with competitive prices and of course quality workmanship. I am looking to have the motor disassembled, new rings, pistons? honed block, new bearings, cleaned cyl head, all new seals and whatever else the motor needs. The motor felt pretty good before i pulled it but i was getting a lot of blow-by. If anyone can speak from experience what the right direction would be i'd def appreciate it.

you will probably find a bunch of people, up here, I think Eksten's and Black Forest could do it, or at least from what I have heard, they KNOW their Euro cars

wasn't there a guy on here that did rebuilds? Chris White or something? think that name was mentioned before, and I think he's somewhere in your area

When you say you're in the Hudson Valley....where do you actually mean ?

If you're in Rockland County there are lots of options not too far.....

Not in NY, but a great shop is www.exotechpower.com. Call Mark at 603-382-3599 and told him I directed you there. You won't get a better more at a better price anywhere. He's more than reasonable and knows 944s inside out.

It may be a bit of a hike for you, but Rennwerke Porsche in Elmsford, NJ just completely rebuilt the engine in my car (new block, pistons, rings, bearings, rebuilt head, etc etc), and I've been very happy with the worksmanship - I think that in the couple months since the rebuild, I've driving the car more than in the entire year leading up to the rebuild! The prices were also very reasonable

Shoot me a PM if you'd like their contact info

Rennworks is great I bought my 944 from Cheech, the shop is 1st rate (clean every thing and it is like Xanadu for all the Porsche's in his lot) and they have a reputation for being one of the best Porsche shops in the area, they have my vote. they are 40 minutes from me but they did my wheel alinement (every thing else since I got the car I have done my self) well worth the trip, tell him James the chimney sweep told you about him also.

Chris White's stuff looks amazing.

What HP would you gain from a 3.0 litre crank + carillos in a 2.5 NA anyway?
