Default Front Door speakers...

Anyone know/have any one that they recommend? I just have front door speakers only with my Alpine headunit... the rear speakers I removed before I installed my cage...

Thanks

Carl

Get the alpine 406 speakers. They sound pretty damn good and fit pretty well. They are $55 shipped on amazon. Trust me you can't go wrong. I ordered three sets and alpines were the only ones that fit well depth wise

Just get the alpine 406 speakers and you will be good. Maybe some bostons for the rear as they will fit.

Ditto on the Alpines for the doors...you need to a do a 6.5" in rear quarters to fill it out though for me at least. Alvin and the Chipmunks are OK for about 3 miles, you need some clean bass/mid response and a sub if you are into ear damage and separated glass seals. I'm a simple guy and hate subs so take that comment with a grain of salt or gram of hash, it's your call.

A sub is his only choice for low end, his cage is in the way of the rear speakers. One of those cubby hole boxes with a single sub could do ok without being retarded. It all depends on how its tuned

I was able top carefully lift and tape the rear panels to the glass without breaking the seal at the lower edge of the window gasket. I ended up just removing them completely anyway for convenience and installed Momo-Polk components. Reinstalling the panels with contact cement was much easier than I thought it would be.

my rear panels were coming off, all I had to do was take out like 1 screw or a clip or something, lol ... took me what, a whole lot of 2 minutes?

never mind all that mushy fabric stuff that is glued to the car's body ... that was a WHOLE different animal

btw, I can totally see how even with a TRACK car, you could have a fiberglass enclosure (because its light and strong) - and have a 10" sub or two, right w here the back seats are, and an amp on the other side ... or between

the whole thing would probably weigh about 30lbs total, which isn't that bad, and it SHOULD clear a roll-bar/cage fairly easily

and oh, I want to get Image Dynamics for rear speakers

I'm still looking for a good deck that has iPod hook-up and doesn't cost $300 ...
