Post Stuck pressure relief valve

I'm trying to replace my oil cooler seals but I can't seem to get the pressure relief valve off. I'm afraid of stripping edges to it.

Any suggestions? I don't have an impact wrench.

Thank you,
David

Just try penetrating oil. Then get a wrench that fits snuggly and tap the wrench with a hammer to loosen. If that fails get a pipe to put over the wrench and a really big hammer.

Good luck

Worst scenario, pull the housing off evenly with the valve still in the housing, it's threaded to the housing, but only an o ring holds it to the block.

You didn't state which model you have...?

They are different for the NA and Turbo..

Thanks for the suggestions.

I didn't think of just taking the 4 bolts for the housing unit. I'll try that asap.

Car is a 944 early 85 na
