Post A-pilliar mount.

Cannot figure out how to get this thing off!! I got the the screw out by the dashboard and I also got the middle screw. However the top screw by the sunviser I can't get out. Its almost like and allen screw or something but I tried all my allens and non of them fit. Whats holding this thing in place? If it is an allen what size is it?

Thanks
Dan

Dan,,

Don't get to rough with it just yet. The phillips head is just a bit to the right and slightly up a bit from the top hole. Take a flashlight, small screwdriver and dig that way. I used a drill and opened the hole ever so slightly and there it was.

They must have put those in Friday afternoon,,you know a four beer lunch!LOL

Thanks I will try that. Have any ideas for good grounds for my air fuel gauge and boost. I learned my lesson last time from taking it from the stereo, so I need other alternatives.

First pc of advice is to go ahead and remove the drivers seat before you start,,whole lot more comfortable laying on the carpet than trying to get in that hole!!!

There are several good grounds under there,,your at the fuse box bottom. I picked up one for my boost and one for my fuel pressure(electronic). For the light, I was replacing my console with a new used one, I piggybacked off the ashtray light.

I found a good ground lug on the clutch side of the drivers compartment. Just take a flashlight and (while you are looking up into the dash from the floor) look for two 10 gauge (approx) tan wires bolted to what looks like the dash frame. There is a space between the two wires on the lug where you can drill and tap for a smaller screw (the metal is not very thick), or you can just use one of the existing bolts, but they are big, and it might be hard to find a connector that you can crimp to the small wires for your gauges AND will fit the bolts.

Thanks guys got the stock a-pillar out what a pain! How did they every screw it on is beyond me? Where are you guys rounting the wires from the engine compartment in at? The reason I ask this is I don't want to take power from the stereo again like last time, the air fuel seemed to be effected by the bass level some how. Sucky ground caused this probably?

Thanks

Actually, in my opinion, the best place to hook up the A/F meter is at the DME. There you will find that pin #24 is the oxygen sensor's lead and that pin #28 is a great stable ground.
I used <a href="http://members.rennlist.com/951_racerx/ARM1install.html" target="_blank">Racer X's</a>
site as reference. The actual connector is numbered. The ground for the boost gauge light was obtained behind the A pillar. There is a screw that holds a bracket right by the dash. Everything was snaked behind the instrument cluster, through the dash and down behind the glove box and into the passenger footwell where the computers are located. No need to go into the engine compartment by installing this way. The vacuum line was T'd into the KLR feed. Just cut it, add your T connector and your done. Be very careful that you don't kink the vacuum tubing or chafe the wiring by the A pillar causing a short.
