Question HELP! Stock Chip ID issues

I am putting the stock chips back in my '86 951. Like a doofus I forgot to mark tyhem when I took them out. Now I have two identical chips. Is there any way to tell which is which? All they have are numbers on them.

If I were to guess wrong and install them backwards what would happen? I would hope that the car would just not start and I would have my answer. I really do not wnat to be buying new computers or chips though if something is going to fry.

Thanks for any clues <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />
