much thanks you all...

i sandblasted the valvecover and once clean, painted it with a coat of primer, and then black wrinkle paint (engine paint) and hi-temp gloss. can't believe how hard the finished product got once the heat from the engine baked it. it looks awesome.

left the fuel rail naked stock aluminum after blasting and did the logo in royal blue metalic to go with the new performance sparkplug wires from Zimms.

got the intake up next. just going to blast it to make it look virgin again. i'll do the throttle body and H20 pump pipe in the same royal blue metalic. and leave the rest of the intake naked stock aluminum.

on this one, i'll pay to have it done, as i'll probably just f_ck something up if i attempt it.

i'll post pics soon.

I bought a torque wrench especially to do this job on my 944 S2. I think those bolts take only 10 Nm. Be very careful.

thanks for all the help... i set the torque wrench at 7lbs and all turned out well.

i was able to re-use the gasket, as it's only 2 months old... now i've got a spare 968 valve cover gasket.

when i get the intake done... (and that will be in about 2 more weeks), i'll post photos and also get video/audio of the exhaust as soon as i can. at the moment we're doing a bit of traveling.... 7 thousand miles on this car in the past 3 weeks ~~ just passed 121 k miles. getting ready to check out Montana next... i'm also excited about one more thing. these 968s are seriously good cars.

looking forward to doing the suspension soon ahead of the purchase and install of the supercharger...

i have a tech in fargo who's going to be doing abuncha work the car in mid-september.

1. sandblast the intake. manifold

2. new windshield

3. new ps hose.

4. install 997 H & R rear spacers 12 mm

5. rear brake rotors and pads.

(they take a pretty good beating daily driving all over creation since installing the bias valve for the big front brakes).

6. all front suspension rubber, add koni inserts, address/rebuild lcr's, etc...

which leads me to my next question. what the hell do i need to do the job right ?

7. change the sparkplugs, oil and tranny fluid.

after that work gets done, my next scheduled work will be rodbearings, supercharger purchase and install.

after that, new clutch, torque tube bearings, rebuild tranny change out 5th and 6th gears, add LSD, and polish the paint.
