Thumbs up 944 Turbo Tranny

Will an 86 944Turbo Tranny fit into an early 85 944-nonTurbo?

Yes, but you'll have to swap out the mount(s) also.

Good Luck!

Is it better to put your money into buying a turbo tranny or just getting the same tranny?

The turbo tranny has longer gearing, so your car will go slower with the turbo tranny vs. the stock trans. Unless you have some big HP mods (forced induction), your best bet is to stick with the stock trans.
