datts it.... and the glory to follow.
you can also run that hollow resonator all the way back in place of the cat... that way you have a small elbow pipe there at the bend going straight into the resonator. that is a very good design.... and only 1 testpipe.
UPDATES ?????

My hollow chamber resonator came in today. The max flow muffler came in about a week ago, so I'm situated with the materials. The muffler shop is closed for Labor day weekend. I'm going to run odurandina's setup on my 924S, rather than my 944S2. Updates to soon follow.

I was planning on taking the car in to have Midas put everything together today, but they are just too swamped at the moment. So now it's first thing Monday morning....
In the mean time, I'll work on getting a video together to chronicle my exhaust progression.

i hope the muffler shop doesn't overcharge you.... remember to run heavier guage pipes.... and 3 mounting brackets is preferred instead of the normal 2.... why ? cuz now, you're running a lightweight exhaust and it's a four cylinder engine, which will normally beat the hell out of your motor mounts and exhaust pipes.

Oh, and what do you mean by heavier gauge pipes?

I'm just recently looking into doing a inexpensive way to get more sound of my S2 this sounds like a sound plan...Did either of you guys ever make a video of your exhaust sound with this set up...if not it would be very helpful and appreciated.

the aftermarket mustang, ford and chevy stuff is pretty good. why shouldn't it be. they've been experimenting for over 50 years,... so, the short answer is NO.... but if you're on a budget, why bother adding greater expense to an already expensive car.
if you go to my exhaust thread https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...to-heaven.html you can find the pieces there. my car would top out in the mid 140s before changing the exhaust. i gained about 18 mph after installation.
but the thing you need to remember is, you really need that "big mouth" resonator in there. it's the nature of the four cylinder's exhaust note.... "just too lawnmowery."
someday the car will have the "proper" 8 cylinders.

Makis - I had the same thought as you! Opening up the cat and removing the crap and maybe repacking it with internals from another exhaust. That would keep the the stock look

Exhaust Update
odurandina, as you know I was aiming towards running a setup like yours on my 924S.
I went ahead and purchased the resonator you specified and had it installed in the middle of my straight through setup (towards the headers, as specified). Even though I also purchased the Hooker muffler as well, I decided to leave on my Borla XR-1 to see how it would sound.
Results (keep in mind, I'm comparing the sound to my previous LOUD straight through setup): The idle sounds very much alike from the outside in depth, but is noticeable quieter from the inside. Upon cruising up to speed, a real difference is noticed. The racy loud exhaust note is gone, replaced with a more sportive and suitable tone. It's not quiet, or loud really. I think the sound is just about right for street use. I'm happy cruising at highway speeds and the low RPM groaning is gone. The car doesn't scream under overpasses anymore and the sound is more natural, if anything. I like the fact that I can enjoy my music, while still hearing feedback in between shifts and acceleration. And for what it's worth, I can have a conversation with the person sitting next to me without yelling.
Overall, I'm glad I went with your type of setup. I'll try to get a video up and more updates in your exhaust thread soon enough...
