Post Header Wrap Questions

I'm going to wrap my headers, crossover and down pipe. Also I'm going to bag the turbo. I talked to Perry951 and he removed his factory heat shield to inspect for cracks and wrapped them. I'm kinda thinking that it would be pointless for me to remove the sheilds and insulation only to wrap them with no shields. Could I wrap over the shields, or would it be too much? I'm not worried about the look of the bumps from the shields, 'll bend the edges over. Is it a decent gain to remove the sheilds and run only wrap? I don't plan on removing the shields unless I need to. TIA

I wrapped over the stock shields, see no problems with it.
