Ah, you stole my best choice. Actually, it's a tie for both...
904 Carrera GTS (available, strangely enough for both road AND race)
962 (available, even more strangely for both road AND race)
Only Porsche would let you buy the car for the road too! Gotta love 'em. As I understand it, the 904 Carrera GTS road car could be had for about 20% more than a brand new 911. Wish I was buying cars back then!
Anyone else seen one of the 962 road cars? They are ridiculous in every way and incredibly sexy in a complete black paint job.

Yup. Then there was a nice layout on a 904 Carrera GTS in 911 and Porsche World magazine in August. Hot, stuffy, noisy... who cares! These cars are just too pretty to not fall in love with them.

damn! so many good ones to choose. the 917s are gods. the 904s are brilliant.
but for race.. nothing beats the look of a 550
for the road.. damn thats hard, i loved that 962 schuppan (i think thats who had it made) really hit the nail on it, but its too much of a race car. ive always loved the 930's and 356 sppedsters. but nothing comes close to a 959!
