Arrow What wipers do you use?

This rainy night has reminded me that my wipers chatter a lot. I put on Anco's, and even Bosch MicroEdge, but they still chatter - especially at highway speeds.

So has anyone tried wipers that fit snugly to the wiper arms and wipe smoothly???

TIA,
sm

i dunno.. i would think bosch is what you wanna go with...

i just ordered 3 from pelican parts for 8 bucks each.. sigh. couldnt find the right kind at autozone.

btw wouldnt chattering wipers not have to do with the rubber but maybe your arms are loose or something?

I´ve been having problems with the wipers in speed above 120 km/h, they are pretty useless at that speed... Anoyone who knows of any good wipers with small wings on them to keep them in contact with the windshield?

I use Bosch or SWF wiper blades.
There can be some torsion in the arms causing the blade to "flip over" less than required.
This will give the chatter in one direction only.
Can easily be rectified by applying reversed torsion on the arm.(use ajustable spanner, on the end of the arm, on the sides of the U shaped holder, so on the edges of the strip. NOT on the flat section, this will change the shape of the U-bent only, causing trouble if you try to insert the blade again.
Be carefull here, you go too far quire easy.

If chatter in both directions, you have either:
- bent arms, reducing the spring induced load on the blades
- the wrong blades (too long)
- or the window is not wet enough causing too
much friction

EDIT:
Mine has a little spoiler on the left arm helping to force the wiper blade down at speed.
Could yours be gone?

Question

I have tried Bosche, Trico, Anco...they ALL chatter like crazy!

Has anyone bought NEW arms? I would hate to spend the money, only to find I could have bought springs for $4 each...

Suggestions??? It's raining today!

Here in Phoenix my wipers die from dry rot from the heat before I get to use them in the rain.

When I went to the dealership to get new arms, the ones they gave me were different that the crummy ones I took off. They said Porsche updated the design since '87 and the new arms hold tighter than a drum!!

Well, my car is from 1990 and I can´t imagine that it would be worse than mine...

Maybe I should to put some sort of miracle product on the windscreen to make the water slide off better. Any ideas?

With winter coming and of need of new blades too, I plan on getting both new blades and a fresh shot of Rain X...I do all my windows with it and at highway speeds, you really don't even need the wipers on...Pretty cool stuff!

Rain X does a good job of making the water bead up and blow off at speed and wipers really aren't needed except for a real downpour, there is also a Rain X washer fluid and fluid additive that works pretty good.

Wiper blades, I like Anco winter blades.

I HATE Rain-X! I found that when you do use the wipers, you get an oily streaky film on the windshield. And it's really hard to get the Rain-X off once it's applied.

It also causes extra fogging on cold rainy days I think...

I ordered a fresh set of arms from Pellican. $32 each. Not bad. Hope that solves the problem.
