In regard to the shifter.

Post In regard to the shifter.

Due to the post concerning aluminum shift pattern, I just though I'd let you all know another pretty good looking solution. I did this when I put new leather on my shifter. The shift pattern looked like garbage next to the new leather, so I set out to refinish it. What I ended up doing was painting the whole top of the pattern with white automotive paint. I sanded it down till I saw black, then switched to very fine sand paper. (1200 grit or so, I think) By the time I finished sanding, the shift pattern showed up very nicely, and the black had a nice matte look. (I never cared for shiny myself) Here's the final product:
