944 S2 Smoking under hard acceleration after startup
Hey everyone, Yesterday my father pointed out to me that my S2 smoked while I was accelerating up my street yesterday. This was the first time either of us had seen it. I live on a pretty steep hill so you have to get on it pretty hard to get up the hill also. Well, I am running 20W/50 right now due to high miles 158K and I am actually thinking it is a little too thick because i will run at least 5 bar of oil pressure until a good 15-20 minutes into my drive? sound odd? Maybe I should go with a thinner oil? I am not really sure what I should do about this, but I also do know that after a little while of driving there is absolutely no smoking during hard acceleration. Believe me, all of your help is totally appreciated!
Thanks so much!

my S2 smoked under acceleration after I had the head reworked by some one in california It turned out that my valve guide stem seals where installed wrong causing oil to enter the cylinder and burn..............................
When I pulled the head I found that my cylinders walls where badly scored! im sure that the scored walls had something to do with the smoke...............................
But im sure that the fugged stem seals where making it smoke There was so much stick burnt oil in the valve guides you could hardly move them...................
I would look into doing a leakdown test to help
locate the culprite................................

It's not the greatest idea in the world to rev a cold engine hard - I realise you live on a hill but if you can avoid spanking the engine while cold, it will thank you for it.
Actually, a better question, what do you mean by "hard acceleration"?

Not really hard to tell you the truth, it was probably about 4,000 - 4,500 at the most, nothin much. I am most likey going to start my car up earlier now and let it warm up. What oil do you all reccomend for a 158K mile S2? Thanks again everyone!
