Just wanted to share a cool Porsche bonding experience I had yesterday. While stopped at a red light in my $7k 14-year-old 944, I spotted a SWEET charcoal grey 993 at the light on the opposite side of the street. When the driver spotted me sitting there, he actually flashed his fog lights, and gave me a wave, saying "Hey Porsche owner--I am with ya" with one small gesture.

Gotta love getting into a $75,000 club with a $7,000 car!

Anyone else get props from 911/993/996 owners??

As a 911 owner I must say, I flash/wave at every Porsche I see. I am a member of PCA and have a love of all Porsches period. If someone is so insecure that the model of porsche determines who they will flash or wave at, they should shake their head. I enjoy relating to freindly people with a common interest regardless of what they choose to drive. I hope to flash and wave at all of you and wish you to return acknowlegement back to me.

At the tech inspection for the Lime Rock DE this week, Fred, the guy who checked the suspension stuff on the lift said he'd rather be driving my 944S2 than his at Lime Rock! He owns a 1991 911 Targa. Granted he was joking around, but I appreciate his approval of my 'water-pumper.'

For the past year, I've been giving every Porsche driver I see a nice big thumbs up. I figure I'm not part of the club yet and flashing my lights would only stand to confuse them.

What's really cool is there is a 993 cab that parks across the street from here and I've seen a 356 around here twice. (I almost stopped the car and turned around to follow it).

I think as I probably just come off as some kid in a tercel who dreams about these cars, which is true for only a little while longer
