Best Porsche exchange
I was at a light tonight with my wife in my 85.5 944 na and a new 911 pulled up and right passed us and I thought "snob, he didn't even look", next I see him in reverse and he asks us to roll down the window and he says "I always thought that those where the best looking Porsche's ever make" and all I could say back was " I was thinking the same about yours" we both laughed, and drove off admiring each others cars I offered a trade but I don't think he heard me.....

Its always surprising when a 911 owner acknowledges a 944 it seems
I always wave at old 911s, and usually they wave back, or even first! 914s will usually wave.
Those that never ever wave it seems? 996/997s, Boxsters, and of all things, 928s

I had a 928 driver at a local parts store more than happy to check out my 951, and me his 928..
At a GTG I had a GT3 park next to me, get out and look over my car, and remark that he spent WAY too much money!
Great story... these are GREAT cars...

i never see 928s -- ever.... maybe i've seen 1 in the past five years.
yesterday morning i was on a work stayover in New Haven, CT. woke up, had breakfast and a short meeting... got in my 968 and headed onto I-95 north and had the strangest thought pop my head, speaking alien english the following words: 'i'm gonna see a 928 today..." appropriately, i reasoned that i had no reason to think "such so silly," cuz, these cars seen no longer to exist...
however -- it seems like, when i have a premonition, i would like to talk myself into the idea that it very often comes true... so i let this outrageous thought stand.
ten minutes later, a 928 (GTS no less, the baddest shark of them all) pulled onto the highway. we exchanged waves, then hauled a little *** for about 40 miles...
this may be the first GTS i have ever seen driving about. my weird.

Not a Porsche, but I got a friendly wave from an older gentleman in a 599 the other day while stuck in gridlock coming home from work - something I totally wasn't expecting!
As for other P cars, it seems like all the front engined and air cooled guys recognize and say hi, but I haven't seen much from the 997/987 crowd except for one "jersey shore" lookalike in a cayman who wouldn't stop revving at me at a stoplight.

Yep - all the cayennes I see are driven by chicks... They have no clue about the wave.
Funny enough, I've gotten more waves from Boxster owners then any else. Most 911 guys won't even look at me... At least until they try to "punch-it" and wind up looking at my tail-lights

my best encounter i was driving home from work in heavy traffic on I4 and i pulled up behind a cayman, who flips on his blinker gets into the middle lane, so he could give me both thumbs up and a huge grin.
i personally think the cayman is one of the best looking Porsche's ever.
