I did these last september, they aren't perfect but for winter rims they are just fine. First i soda blasted them, then I painted them with the duplicolor wheel paint, and cleared them. Next up is a set of d90's.....

They were nasty when I got them..

I don't have many pictures right now, most of them are in my garage with a flash. I have a CPR splitter on order and am hoping to install it around the end of the month and will be taking some outdoors, in the sun pictures. Can you wait until then?

The paint I used was Honda Grand Prix White (the front of friends S2000 needed a respray too, so I don't want to hear it) with a few coats of silver satin ghost pearl . The paint I used was Martin Senour from NAPA.
They were painted to mimic the cup car wheels, but I didn't see any of those in person until after I painted mine. The cups are more of an antique white than the nearly pure white I used.

Eric,

Shoot me a Pm or email and let me know what you'd charge me for that service!

I did, put a tarp down and you can scoop it back up. I used a blend of baking soda and garnet abrasives for the tough stuff and straight baking soda on the normal stuff. Wear a mask!

Unless you really want the DIY project, check out your local powder like Funn944 said, my local guy quoted me $25 a piece to strip and coat a wheel. For $100 you can barely beat it.

Your local powder coater only charged $25 a wheel to strip and powder coat?

I just paid $100 a wheel. They did turn out very nice. Soooo smooth.

The brake dust just sprays off with the hose.

He's a one man shop that does this on the side from his custom motorcycle shop. Story goes he was sending so much out to get coated it made sense for him to buy the equipment, get some education and do the work himself.

He has an industrial line of coatings, think farm equipment, that I had some cast iron downspout boots coated with going on five years ago and four solid seasons later of weedwhacking against them they look as good as the day they were installed.
