Does anybody have an opinion or experience with Rein brand motor mounts? Are they hydraulic like the origionals, or are they solid rubber like alot of the aftermarket mounts are? I just don't want any vibrations.

To my knowledge, the OEM mounts are rubber too. I just put in Rein mounts. They seem like high quality units. Motor has not fallen out. ;-)

I might be wrong, but I'm under the impression that the origional mounts have gooey insides. Anyways, you don't have any vibration issues? No undue vibrations at idle?

Honestly, I changed motor mounts b/c a shop told me they were toast (due to an oil leak) and there was no change in vibration or otherwise. It's a big 4 cylinder engine so it vibrates, but the Rein ones seem fine.

I appreciate the input. I'm hesitant to spend over $300 for the porsche ones, but I have some aftermarket ones that are only stamped with the word "germany". They aren't even very used, but they are already junk. I just don't want to buy cheaper ones and still have undue vibrations.

I just bought new Porsche mounts for Turbo S. Butt rape expensive, however I will be keeping my car for many years to come. I would rather do the job once.

I find it hard to believe that the aftermarket mounts are no good, I have not had a problem with them. It could be that people who put in the cheap mounts also do not fix their power steering leaks?

If I need some I intend to try the aftermarket ones again.

im happy with my victor reinz mounts. The stock mounts are filled with liquid and when they collapse they actually collapse..sometimes so badly that they cave into themselves. The rubber Reinz mounts should never collapse like that, they could crack over time like any rubber mount but they seem like a relatively inexpensive and quality replacement.

Update: I went with the Rein mounts and the work fine. I guess only time will tell how long they last.

Not sure where the Rein mounts fit pricewise, but I've only heard horror stories about the cheap non-OEM ones. Guess you will find out if they fail in 3 months!

They are hardly cheap, roughly $230 a set. I'm currently trying to sell the car; I don't want to sell something that is going to need work as soon as the new owner gets it, so I decided to put new mounts on. At the same time, I'm hesitant to invest the money on porsche mounts considering they cost a not-insignificant percentage of what I'm selling the car for. Anyways, everyone seems to say good things about these so hopefully they last awhile.

I recently ordered a pair of motor mounts from Paragon advertised as OEM, but supposedly identical to OE (supposedly just have the Porsche logo shaved off, FWIW). They turned out to be the Rein brand mounts, made in the Czech Republic. My guess is that they are high quality units. They are about 65% of the price of the OE mounts, so they aren't really what you could call "cheap".

Used the solid rubber units for 8k miles and had zero issues. Only reason they are gone is because of my switching to a semi-solid mount for the new engine.
