Interesting..and frightening all at the same time.
Actually this might just be installed wrong. I helped my friend install an AEM cold air intake into his gen. 4 Prelude and the cone filter is down low like the 3000, but turned 180 deg. so it is BEHIND the fender. Maybe the owner didn't read the install instructions....

Judging by the reflections/shadows, I'd say it's 100% real. I think there should be one on the other side too, might look like little horns, or jaws. Or insect antennas.

Personally, I would have cut a hole smack dab in the middle of the hood, and made it stick straight forward. Sorta Rice-meets-Studebaker style hood ornament.
