If you run engine for 10 minutes without oil in the head, the lifters should make a LOT of noise ! Any qualified mec should noticed that !

The problem is the oil pressure control valve in the right rear corner of the head. it is probably stuck, it happened to me.

Im in the Grand Rapids area. I'm curious what shop you brung it too? Did you bring it to German Auto?

Maybe their head gasket could be put on backwards though.

O.K. Jai,
Since you do not have your location listed I am going to assume that you are in the states. If in fact you are, all states have some sort of regulatory body governing the ethics of auto repair shops. While I would use this as a last resort, You need to consider contacting your local or state agency. If this moron who calls himself a mechanic didn't notice anything for the ten minutes leading up to this disaster, then the repair is out of his pocket, not yours. I cannot believe that he didn't SMELL anything, or see the white-hot header. This guy is just trying to get over on a nineteen year-old who he sees as a mark. STICK UP FOR YOURSELF. Get someone you respect and trust to go with you (read older). Go get this a**hole to pay for his blunder.
