Cool FOR SALE: The Porsche of mopeds...(Relisted!)

Buyer didn't want it when he found out it was a 1-speed, and I didn't want to chase everyone else down, so...1977 Puch Maxi Moped: Bob Genghis Khan. She doesn't start. First $150 I see takes her, period.

I'm not sure why it won't start. I've gone so far as to change the spark plugs and put in new gas and bleeding(?) the carb, but that's about it. I think it might need a fuel filter, but I'm not sure why I think that. Used to start on one kick no sweat.

It was blue...The people I bought it from on Nantucket had a pair of them that they sold individually. The thing was perfect. I couldn't believe it. Then I brought it to my girlfriend for the bling. I figure, if you're gonna be riding a friggin' moped, you might as well let people know you can take a joke...

On the way up to Boston from Nantucket, there was a spooky section where I took a wrong turn onto a real three-lane highway...I got off that quick! I ended up in like, Southie with people staring at me aghast...bright yellow jacket...crate full of crap...full backpack...light blue glasses I bought at a CVS on the way up to get the bugs off...Quite the trip.

I've tried the basic things to get it going, but I haven't put in so much as a day of trying. I don't want to garauntee that there isn't major engine trouble because I just don't know, but I highly doubt it. Everything turns and puffs, it just doesn't catch. I'd love to see it go to a Rennlister, though...

Hello Kitty is evil. You'll need to exorcise that demon, along with all its associated bad karma. Then it should kick over like a champ.

I know it. My original plan was to get it going and sell it for a few hundred, but...I kinda lost interest and I've got wheels to refinish. If nobody bids, I'm gonna give it to my buddy for $50 so he can mess around with it. Probably by storing it in my garage, using my tools, asking me questions...

Sorry, but I own two of the Porsches of the moped world and they are not Puchs. Well actually, they are 50 cc bikes, not mopeds, but they are extremely...unusual. Ever hear of a Zveirad Union? Built by two German brothers in the early 60s, they have racing seats and leading link forks etc. etc. The fan-cooled two stroke motors are unusual too. I have one with less than 10 K on it!

Your engine problems might be bad crank seals. They have to be perfect on a two stroke, as tend to go when they get old.

Okay, then...the Mercedes of the moped world? It's a Daimler-Puch afterall...

It doesn't have racing seats, but it's got some custom Scotch upholstry...
