Post clutch problems again (sigh)

I just finished replacing my clutch hydraulics, and the results aren't what I hoped for (yet slightly better than I feared). It clacks a little when I shift from neutral, and I can tell its still grabbing a little even with the clutch all the way in.

Before, the clutch would go to the floor and stay. So I must have done SOMETHING right.. I don't have a power bleeder, so I'm thinking maybe I just didn't do a good enough job..? If so, would it be cheaper to order one or just easier to go have a mechanic do it? Might it be the pressure plate or something? I really don't want to have to buy a new clutch, but I'd rather just find out if it is now and do it..

Thanks a ton guys

The clutch is one of the harder items to bleed on our cars. I wimped out and had someone else do mine. It's not unusual to have to do it twice from what I understand.

Well, tried that. No luck. What bothers me the most is the squeaking..

You shouldn't have to adjust the rod.

Wait a while and bleed the slave again. It takes a while.

bleed the slave with the front of the car lower than the back or you will be sucking air and be there for a long time. It should be fast and easy if you do it right with a clear surgical tube. Good luck.

Bump.. Anyone think that the problem IS the clutch or does it sound just like the hydraulics?

Has anyone used the sachs power clutch kit? It's got an aluminum pressure plate and slotted surface on the disc. It looks like I'm going to have to go ahead and replace the clutch and I'm wondering if its worth the extra $200.

that sounds to me also like it isnt totally bled. I hate bleeding any hydraulics, but if you pay (around here its $30) to get your hydraulics bled you have almost paid for the power bleeder, i believe it was $45.

i am in the process of replacing all of my clutch components as well. make sure u keep the rear of the car elevated. bleeding will have better results........also, i havent messed with any of this yet, but in my Haynes manual, there are several different adjustments to get the clutch engagement correct, 2 of them are on the pedal and the master adjustment. the last one is the slave, you can get to this by removing the maintence plug from the clutch houseing, you will also be able to look at the clutch engaging if you do this........hope that helps you out!
