CONCOURS WINNER!!!!!!!
I WON! Actually second place only by a couple points too. (1st place went to some dude that has been doing this for over a decade) I was marked down those few points due to "forgetting to clean underneath my trunk carpeting" I didnt think i should wax and shine that since the carpet would go right back onto it? Oh well. Next time we should take it! I was only 15 points from a perfect score of 230. First time is always a learning experience. Heres a pic of my engine! What do you all think...should i anondize the head to match my body paint and have white Porsche letters...or polish the head and headers to a chrome look? Or any better ideas?

That is a beauty! I think color-coding with the body color would look great, and it wouldn't require as much effort to keep looking great as polishing... However, do they take points away for not leaving them the stock color? How hard is it to find powder-coating in that same color .

Have you thought about replacing your coolant overflow tank with a new one? White looks better than yellow!
If anything, I'd polish or powdercoat before anodizing, but I think your engine loks great as is!
I placed 4th at an all-marque car show this weekend! Can't touch 2nd at concours though!
Congrats!

White coolant tank? No i havent? What color where they originally? That might be be a good idea. I dont know if they deduct points. In our area they arent too picky about upgrades that dont change anything. My porsche door sills, and my colored crest caps and mudflaps did not effect the score. I will have to find out about the engine though. Im not too pressed though. Ide rather it look good to me than care what some whacky judge pulling a white-glove test thinks. It may be hard to find a matching powder coat...but there is a company offering a huge variety and they have something very very similar. The cobalt blue is weird. Its almost dual tone. Its purple in some light and angles, and then blue in others. If i can get at least a similar blue ide be happy.

Every thing was just done with some soapy water and hand work! Actually my mechanic sprayed everything with a degreaser for me then i washed it all down. If its rubber, i used the same stuff i use on my bumpers and trim. Everything else was just dish soap and water. It gets your dishes clean enough to eat off...so why not an S2?

Yeah it probably would, it depends on the event though. Like i said, im not a concours maniac, i track the car. I just keep it extremely clean and thought might as well enter it in. The engine is the dirtiest part. The interior is untouched since no one ever sits in it anyways, and i am very careful with the body. The people with custom work were pretty much in the wash & shine sector. I havent decided on doing the powder-coat yet, but im really leaning if i can find something i like.

A new coolant tank and brake fluid reservoir would look white just like the windshield washer tank. That engine would look like it did the day it left Germany.
Very impressive engine. How about some shots of the interior & exterior.
Nice job!!

Congratulations! Replacing the expansion tank is nice, but I hear they turn yellow again quite soon anyway. They're exposed to a lot higher temperatures than the windshield fluid tank.
As for the intake, I'd leave it stock. Don't you love looking at pictures of new examples of these cars in old brochures or books and seeing how yours looks just like them? I do.
