Just want to vent:
I ordered what seemed to be a great priced Blaupunkt Heidelberg head unit from Sound4less.com.
3 weeks later, I still have no radio, and only get an answering machine when I call to ask where the hell my stereo is.
I guess if I paid $80 more at Crutchfield, I would have the stereo by now. But I hate paying more than I should.
Ahhhhh!!
Anyone else have a GOOD bargain audio place to deal with?

Since you are also from NYC go down to canal street. as long as you know what you want and what you want to pay for it you will not get ripped off. do your research and don't be afraid to haggle, then start to leave and watch the price drop as you go out the door. i've saved hundreds, yes hundreds of dollars this way, and i only buy quality stuff. just make sure you know your stuff (price / specs / vehicle fit) and you will walk away happy.

I'd say there are 20+ audio retailers on canal, they sell just about anything you need. spend a couple of hours bouncing around, pricing them against each other. its best if you have a model and price in mind before you go.
[quote] heh. I don't know anything about nyc or canal street, but that sounds like the place to go to buy back your stereo if it got stolen out of your car last night.

this might have been true in 1980, but not now. You can find shady "stores" anywhere if you look hard enough, but most of the stores on canal are legit, factory authorized places. I used to be wary of going there to get my electronics, because of its shady reputation, but a couple of trips down there with a friend in the audio business showed me you can get great deals if you know what you are doing.

I recently ordered some stuff from the Zeb and got really good service and prices- new Infinity Kappa 6 1/2's for just under $100. They were at my door on Friday and I had ordered them on Wednesday morning- I was impressed! A stereo guru on this list referred me...
