Cool Delete me John D, thanks.

There's this thread on Pelican right now that's asking which car handles better, a 944 or a 911. The obvious answer is the 944 especially after reading the 911 Turbo Vs. 944 Turbo S article that Danno posted. Now what happened is someone on the 911 board saw the post and started a thread convincing everyone on the 911 board to vote for the 911 as the better handler, so now the poll shows 200+ votes for the 911 Vs. 20 for the 944! Just clicky here and vote...because we know what the truth is!

And here's the evil 911 thread:

I think we're doomed to lose this one. There are a lot more 911 owners out there than us.

I refuse to stoop to there level. Let them believe what they wish. I'll do my best to prove them wrong on the track!

You know this is really funny.
I am 944 guy. Have been for years. First 924S then 944 Turbo S now 84 944 NA on the track....

I have just started racing in the 944-spec series and about 65% of the drivers are new 944 guys. These were either 911 or 914 guys. You know what the first thing they say is..... "Wow that 944 is a fun car. Great handling. Much easier to drive than my 911/914. Wow I can really trail brake in this thing. This 944 racing this going to be fun!"

Give the other P-car boys a chance to drive a 944 (even the lowly 944 NA) in anger they will quickly see what delightfully little car it is.

IMHO A 944 NA is MUCH harder to drive fast at track than a 944 Turbo.... Why? you don't have any power to make-up for bad habits and errors. With power you can get fast laps with alot of mistakes. A well driven 944 NA can be scary fast a at track if you can maintain corner speed.
Of couse once you learn to use an 944 NA to match stock 944 turbos at the track you can then get a 944 turbo and SPANK EVERYONE WITH HANDLING AND POWER!!

That is precisely why I got a NA as a track car. I was tracking my M3 and besides not wanting to put it in the wall it was also fostering the above mentioned bad habits. Once I feel my limits exceed the car's I'll be ready to up the ante. And I'm going to the track tomorrow! Woohoo!

I guess my post about my '89 951 vs. my brothers '88 911 and Danno's resulting post of "A Tale of Two Turbos" (to answer my question)stirred the pot a little.

OK, I posted and did my part but it looks like we are goners:

911 - 237
944 - 44
